Liebster Blog Award (Take 2)

Hello! I was lucky enough to be tagged in the 'Liebster Award' for the second time by the lovely Laura from Pale Girl Reviews. For those who don't know how the Liebster Award works, here are the rules:

- Link back to the person that tagged you
- State 11 facts about yourself
- Answer the 11 set questions on the person that nominated you
- Nominate some blogs (with less than 200 followers) and set 11 questions for them

Here we go then!

1. My favorite drink is raspberry lemonade
2. I have an addiction to Coronation Street (grrrr Carl I hate you)
3. One of my life-long dreams is to travel to Borneo and work at the Orangutan Sanctuary
4. I love cats, I find myself often talking to my own as if she's human
5. I find it almost impossible to sleep past 10am, despite all my friends being able to until 2pm
6. I have/suffer from Misophonia
7. I am 15 years old, and my birthday is on the 12th of June
8. I fell from a climbing frame in France and fractured my skull when I was seven, leaving me permanently deaf with rather bad tinnitus (which is connected to misophonia, which I didn't know until I added in the wiki link, you learn something new everyday)
9. I am incredibly lazy
10. I have a strange addiction to Harry Potter
11. I live in South West London and I love how Central London is just a train ride away (hello, oxford street)

Laura's Questions:

1. Have you become addicted to any game apps? Any you'd recommend?
I'd say 'The Simpsons Tapped Out' is my most played app. You build your own Springfield and send the towns people on little missions, it's very addictive! I think thats the only game app I have, apart from Sonic. I usually download them and then get bored and delete them.

2. How did you learn to do your makeup?
About a year ago I started getting into doing my makeup properly, and I just taught myself really. I look up the odd tutorial now and then but mostly I just make it up as I go along.

3. Who's your current celebrity crush?
Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Oh my goodness, that man. I feel a photo is necessary:
4. What fashion trend are you excited to try out this season?
Dungarees, for sure. I also really want to buy and wear high waisted bikini, just so I can get a bit of sun!

5. What movies are you looking forward to this year?
The new monsters inc film, Catching fire (second hunger games), Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters, Finding Dory (Finding Nemo sequel). I can't wait for them all; I'm such a child. I'm counting down the days until Catching fire!

6. Skirts or dresses?
Hmm, tough one. Skirts I think because you can interchange tops so it doesn't look like your wearing the same thing all of the time. Although I love dresses too!

7. What products do you use religiously?
My Johnson's face wash. I've been through about five bottles of it, I love it. I also use Soap and Glory's 'flake away' all the time, too.

8. Are you a gamer? What's your favorite game?
Even though it's really old (seven years I think) I love love love Zelda and the Twilight Princess on the Wii. It's so so so good. I can't stress how much I love this game, I've completed it about three times. If you haven't played this before then go and buy it, right now.

9. Do you prefer getting up late or getting up early?
I hate getting up early, but I don't really get up late very much either. I'm sort of in-between!

10. If you could go anywhere on holiday, where would you go?
Borneo, to chill with the Orangutans!

11. Do you like... cheese?
Haha, why yes I do like cheese ;)

My Questions:
1. What are you most looking forward to this year?
2. What trends are you most excited to try out this summer?
3. Favourite item of clothing?
4. Favourite beauty product?
5. Are you going to any festivals this year? If not, would you like to?
6. What is your biggest pet peeve?
7. Do you have any phobias?
8. What is the most embarrassing memory you can think of?
9. What is your favourite song of all time?
10. Describe yourself in three words.
11. Name five blogs you love.

I'm so bad at tagging people ahh so I'm going to be really annoying and say if you're reading this, consider yourself tagged (don't hate me).

Hope you enjoyed reading, even if it was  a very text heavy post!

Wishlist 14/4/13

Ever since seeing high waisted bikinis all over Tumblr, they've been on my wishlist. I've wanted something like it for a while, and these ones on Asos are perfect. I can't wait to go on holiday and finally get some sun, so I think I shall be purchasing one of the three above. I agree these might not be everyones cup of tea but I think they're gorgeous.

St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse

I've never really been one for fake tan. I always associated it with a bright orange glow in the dark look, not something I particularly wanted to try. However, about a year ago, I was recommended this by a friend. A bit suspicious at first, I gave it a go. I was very impressed! Unlike most fake tan I've seen, this doesn't come out orange, it comes out brown. With one application it instantly gives my skin a darker colour without it being too noticeable, so I can add more gradually as I please. The smell, granted, is nasty. The typical biscuit-y tangy smell you get with most fake tanning products, but this washes off. I usually apply this before I go to bed, then sleep with it on and wash off the residue in the morning. The bottle suggests the opposite: putting it on in the morning and washing it off in the evening. I find my way better as I don't have to go out smelling of fake tan. Because this fake tan is instant, you don't have to find out until later if you've missed a spot- which makes it less likely for it to streak or look patchy. I'm pretty sure you can buy this fake tan in any cheap drugstore, I got mine in Wilkinsons for £2.99. I'll be definitely using this come the warmer months when woolly tights and trousers are no longer acceptable.

Johnsons 24 Hour Day Cream

I've been using this day cream for about a month now, and so far I love it. It's very light weight, with a consistency just a bit thicker than suncream. I use this instead of a primer, as I don't like to load products onto my skin this is the perfect replacement. After use, it makes my skin feel very soft and fresh and it doesn't leave a greasy residue which some moisturisers do. It comes in a small glass jar, which I like- it makes it seem more expensive than it was, and even though the jar is small there's still a lot of product there. Another good aspect is is that it's SPF 15. I'm not sure how true this is and if it does indeed protect from the sun because of the distinct lack of sun in the UK at the moment, but none the less this is a very good day cream. Costing only £4.07 this is for sure a must buy for skincare.

Match Perfection, Scandaleyes, Too Cool to Tango Rimmel London Mini Haul

Match Perfection Foundation in 010 'Light Porcelain':
Ever since finishing off my second bottle of Rimmel's 'Wake Me Up' foundation, I've been looking out for something to better it. My first impressions of this foundation were good. The colour is a good match for my skin, much better than 'Wake Me Up' as it's much less orange. I have pale skin, and it's very hard to find a foundation colour that suits me, and this one does the job. The consistency is good, if slightly thin, and I still have to use a concealer as the coverage isn't fantastic, but this is a very good foundation. The staying power is brilliant, it lasts all day without a primer. I don't particularly like the glitter in this foundation however, nor did I like it in the 'Wake Me Up' foundation. I would much prefer if it was just the colour on its own, but I suppose that's just my taste. I would rate this 7.5/10.

Scandaleyes Mascara:
I always feel a bit suspicious of mascaras, the adverts always portray them as something amazing that will give you eyelashes that reach up to your forehead (slight exaggeration). I struggle to find a mascara that doesn't give clumpy, stubby, sticky eyelashes let alone a mascara that gives you long ones. This mascara I got free because I spent £10 on the rest of the range, and I think it's the product I'm most happy with. The brush has soft bristles, not plastic ones which I love. I think bristles are better at separating lashes than plastic ones, and this brush certainly lives up to that claim. This mascara leaves my eye lashes elongated and separated which is very hard to find in a high street mascara. I rate this 9/10.

60 Seconds Nail polish in 'Too Cool to Tango':
This nail polish was definitely something I regret buying. I got to the till, with a much lighter blue in hand called 'Sweet as Sugar', only to be told I've only spent £9.98, and so I can't get the free mascara. How my heart broke. I quickly swapped it for this colour in the slightly more expensive nail polish range, as it was the closest colour to the one I picked originally. To be honest I just wanted to pick any old nail polish and get out of there because it was slightly embarrassing to hold up the queue for so long. I got home and painted this on my nails, and it really wasn't very good. The colour needed about three coats to show up and when it did it was streaky. Not impressed! This is mostly my fault of course, I should have thought more about what I was buying. However I'd rate this nail polish a 5/10. Sorry Rimmel!

Have you taken advantage of this free mascara offer? Whats your favourite Rimmel London product?

p.s. If I started a lifestyle blog, would anyone read it?

'You're too old to be so shy'

Alright guys!? I feel like I haven't posted in so long, I'm having withdrawal symptoms. I feel like I should post a little something so you all know I'm not lying in a ditch somewhere or dead from drowning in coursework. I am in fact close to the latter, hence the lack of posting (and relevant photos being taken). Seeing as I don't have enough time or energy to dress myself properly at weekends let alone take photos, I thought an outfit post was long overdue.

So here I sit, in my pyjamas with no makeup and bed hair at one o'clock, bringing myself to drag myself up run a comb through my hair, throw some clothes on and take an outfit of the day. Here we go...

i look like such a mug here haha
top, dungarees - topshop, shoes - ebay

Well I think you'll all agree this outfit wins the award for the most boring outfit of 2013. All of this 'all day pyjamas' has got me out of practice, oops. I've had these dungarees for a while now, since about Christmas time, and for some reason I just can't bring myself to wear them. I know they're supposed to be 'this summers high waisted Levi cut offs', but whenever I put them on I find myself thinking 'hell no' and taking them off again. All my family seem to disapprove so maybe I should wear them more often, haha.

I also bought some faux Litas! I got them on eBay for only £19.99, such a bargain. They're very good quality, despite being not real leather they're made very well and look good on. They're perfect for parties, despite a couple of wobbles they're very comfortable because of the high platform and they got lots of compliments. Because of the height they aren't good for getting home after however, luckily someone carried took me to the train station.

That's all I have to report! I still wont be posting as frequently (my first exam is in may *gulp*), but come late June/July I'll be back in full swing. I hope you're all having a good week!
